My parents’

My parents’ are cold-blooded mammals. They taught me to do what is right. They taught me to stand up for myself. I have power and influence now that I’m 36.

I used to be a shy girl. I never spoke. People thought I was mute. I use my voice now. Working in kitchens, I learned to use my voice.

I am from the east end of Ottawa. I was raised on the corner of Palmerston and Ogilvie.
