The Industry

Have you ever worked in a restaurant before? I was born in a restaurant!

2008: Kelsey's Elmvale: my hostessing years begin
2011: Broadway at Innes and Cyrville: a Native bar attached to the Travel-Lodge had me serving karaoke and poker nights
2012: Dunn's on Dalhousie: on the overnights, I was hawking poutine. We had a security guard and everything!
2015: Nate's on Sparks: my first real breakfast gig
2017: Sin & Redemption on McCaul in Toronto: where I started BQ
now: The BEST restaurant in the east end. The most iconic, at least

There are unwritten rules about the restaurants I'd like to share:

  1. You never go on your phone
  2. You do not complain
I learned that over the years. Waitressing is a cut-throat industry. If they don't like you, if you aren't good enough: you get scrapped.
